Periods - Endometriosis - Breastfeeding - Menopause These are all words deemed inappropriate by the major social media companies and are therefore subject to automated censorship. Meaning that in a world increasingly influenced by online conversations, women and girls are unable to talk, research or ask questions about vital health topics on social media. So, we tested it out in the UK. We asked a married influencer couple to post about men's and women's health topics for a week and compare the results to their regular posts (control posts). Posts about men's health actually saw a small increase in reach and a strong increase in engagement. But when it came to women's health? A 79% drop in reach resulting in significantly less engagement. We're pushing for a change in moderation frameworks that ensures anatomically and medically correct words are free from censorship.
