What if financial literacy could be taught through superpowers? That’s exactly what VFS Peru and Volvo Group Peru set out to do in partnership with Junior Achievement Perú through the “Financial Challenge – Money Superheroes” program. More than 80 students, explored the planets of credit, insurance, and investments with their own superpowers: savings, financial awareness, and strategic budgeting. The program wrapped up with an innovation camp, where students worked in teams to build business projects using design thinking, canvas modeling, and elevator pitches. As Ricardo Magalhaes, Managing Director of VFS Peru, put it: “VFS continues to impact students' lives in Peru by providing financial literacy skills that equip them with practical tools they can apply to succeed in their goals now and in the future.” This is how we build brighter futures, one empowered student at a time.

What does it take to build a business that lasts generations? In Rosa Gómez Oviedo’s case: vision, resilience, and a few trucks. In 1948, Rosa founded Grupo Vivargo S.A.C. in southern Peru, paving the way for what would become a thriving, international transport company. Her determination set the foundation for a family legacy that continues to grow across South and North America. Now in its third generation of leadership, Vivargo is expanding into new markets and services, supported by a strong partnership with Volvo Financial Services. "For us, working with Volvo Financial Services is very important, and it has helped us a lot to develop and grow our fleet", says Cristopher Varas, Rosa’s grandson and Corporate General Manager. “They understand your product and your business, so things will always work out better. That’s what makes them so competitive". At Volvo Financial Services, we’re proud to stand beside bold founders, and the families who carry their vision forward. What happens when financial literacy meets real?world action? You get 576 students, 66+ hours of volunteering, and one powerful recognition: Volvo Financial Services Romania has been awarded the "Invest in Education" honor by Junior Achievement Romania! In a world where many young people feel unprepared to manage money as they enter adulthood, equipping students with real-life financial skills is more than valuable, it’s essential. Through hands-on lessons in 16 schools across Romania, our passionate VFS volunteers brought financial literacy directly into the classroom, empowering students to budget, save, and plan for their futures with confidence. Catalina Alexandru, Managing Director South East Europe at VFS, accepted the award on behalf of the team and shared: “This award stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and the belief that investing in education is investing in a better future.” This initiative is part of our global partnership with JA Worldwide, promoting financial literacy in 12 countries and helping shape financially empowered generations around the world.
